But I suppose it can be attributed to fate and destiny, both themes in FFVIII. The idea of forming SeeD appears to come from nowhere, as Edea starts the SeeD after hearing from it from Squall, and Squall learns of SeeD by having been sent to Garden, after it has already been established by Edea. I disagree with FFVIII being a never-ending loop, although the timeline is distorted and certain events happen in a wrong order. That is till ultimecia actually shows up and begins this loop. Squall eventually makes it home, and everything is all good. So he kind of had to screw up to succeed, it s fucking weird. He tells Edea about SeeD before this all happens.
He was suppose to focus on the time he wanted to be at to be with his friends, but he's an emo fuck and screwed up. Squalls doubt or maybe him being lost, helps set up the events of the game. They were destined to beat Ultimecia, but not necessarily survive it. The risk of forgetting who you were in time compression was great. Yes, they all were at the same orphanage together and yes Edea brought them all back together. Remembering who you are and where you came from doesn't make up what you become. The memory stuff is a big theme of the game. Trying to get the power caused her failure. This defeat was forseen, but could not be stopped. The group stops Ultimecia from gaining ultimate power. Then she does all this stuff to gain power, while SeeD is trying to stop her. So she sends her brain back in time like kitty pride, and takes over Edea. However, she knows she will be defeated too. OK, so, Ultimecia will use time compression to increase power. She wants to use time and space to become a god and she's evil and needs to be stopped. As in, she's not from the time when the game takes place. Ultimecia is not from a contemporary time. I'm kind of drunk.so I really want to try, but it might go badly.
